Hi all,
I have just got a mx-30 couple of weeks ago really pleased with it, but I have had a BP pulse charger installed through mobility and stops charging after few minutes. I have had original one replaced, no joy. The car accepts charge with the three pin charger and public charger. Any advice would be appreciated thanks.

Did the installer test it before he/she left? Some have been known to say its the cars problem!

I know bp pulse chargers have a poor reputation going by numerous forums. Going by my logic the car charger signal is working fine on 3 pin and, I assume, other 7kw chargers (using the same type 2 cable?). Therefore you would think it must be pulse that's at fault. Found this, see below

BP pulse
The charge point is responsible for determining the maximum safe current that can be drawn by the car, which it does from a combination of its own internal configuration based on how it was commissioned/installed and also by determining the capacity of any cable connected to it using signalling resistors.
The charge point signals this current limit to the car
The car is then permitted to draw up to that current level.
No power is permitted to flow at all unless the car and charge point are in communication with each other.

Sorry I cannot help other than to suggest locate another bp pulse charger nearby to test it on?

Hi there,
Unfortunately still not working properly, it's been three weeks since I have had the car, three engineers, two chargers, still no joy. Tonight I had to restart charging five times, so far it's charged 90%. The saga continues, another chat with BP pulse tomorrow and hope to see another engineer some time in the future. Just read the reviews on the internet, absolutely atrocious, wish I would have read them before I wouldn't signed on the dotted line. I wish you all the best,if you are still interested I could keep you posted.
Kind regards

Hi
So sorry to hear your having such a bad experience. Like you we had to have BP pulse, I was shocked to see how poor the reviews came up about them, and would not have chosen them if we had had a choice.
I complained to about the lack of customer service, even before we had the unit installed.
Yesterday I found out that most of the East Yorkshire councils EV charging stations are BP pulse, which is worrying to say the least. I just feel they are hiding a bad product behind a well known name such as BP, and that they feel thats enough to get business, as we all know the company BP, unless it mean Bad Product!
I’m interested to know how you get on as I feel we will have the same hurdles to overcome.
Kind regards
Julie
