Thomas, the problem as I see it is that it may not just be the physical ac charger itself but loads of other factors plus ancillaries adjustments such as battery control module mapping, battery cooling, battery maintenance etc. If it was that easy why didn't Mazda just not give us a higher rated ac charger in the first place? Probably because charging at a higher rate than 6.6kwh, as the normal daily method, would/could damage or shorten the battery life hence the recommendations to use CCS charging more sparingly. Only my thoughts but there must be some Mazda/Panasonic reasoning behind it. Perhaps future versions may go higher but who knows?

Yip, been posted before. I don't think that will deliver 50. The current 40 only gives around 36 - 37 and my calcs indicates 45 - 47 based on time from 20 - 80 published.

"The MX-30's charging ability received a welcome boost in 2022, improving from 40kW to a 50kW capability. Previously, the all-electric small SUV could manage a charge from 10 to 80 per cent in 39 minutes, while the revised system means a 20 to 80 per cent top-up takes 26 minutes"
