(US model)

Sorry, tried looking through forum but only found one thread that could be similar but couldn't figure out if it's the same from the posts.

Was at ~ 45% last night after first "long drive". Charging set to start from midnight to 6 pm. Woke up 6:30 Am, and checked on car. App says charging stopped at 65 so went to see personally and found car was definitely not charging and had solid green light on - it usually dims and brightens when charging, and L1 box was not showing a green light.

Checked 20 minutes later and it's still charging so hopefully it'll keep going lol

I am becoming more convinced that smart ev chargers, as opposed to granny charging cables or dumb chargers, provide the opportunity for more comms/charging issues.
Its a difficult one to nail down due the addition of the car comms to mazda server to app but I have never had a stop charge situation on the granny cable. I have had it on 7kw chargers with built in comms to the provider which is effectively a smart charger. Owners seem to have stop charge issues but then go quiet on the forum so we don't have the opportunity to gather more data to identify potential causes.

I am not ruling out the car, believe you me, but I am leaning more to comms issues, be they charger to car or charger to provider. ( read vice versa )

Unfortunately, I can't find any message or indication as to why it stopped (or even when). I am using a L1 charger (came with our PHEV though identical to the one that comes with the MX30). I'm checking every 30 minutes or so (physically and on the app) to make sure it didn't stop again

Correct me if I am wrong but an L1 cable is just a 120v plug into the wall cable with built in controls, same as supplied with the Mazda? (240v in the UK)

Is that correct or am I mistaken?

If I am correct it is not smart and can only react to power cut or car/charger comms.

Did you have to switch it on/off or unplug then reconnect to the car to start charging again?

What was the temp overnight? Could the batteries have overheated and the car stop charging?

Yes, 120v plug L1 portable unit. Same one I've been using for 4+ years actually (from Honda Carity PHEV 2018).

I've set both the Clarity and the MX30 to charge from 12 Midnight, though only one of them are plugged in at a time. I have never had any stoppage issue on the Clarity that I am aware of, so unlikely to be the charging unit. It's possible there may have been some kind of outage last night that wasn't long enough to turn off our various clocks, but long enough to interrupt charging I supposed.

I'm in North California, USA. Even with the unseasonably warm weather for February, last night was ~60 degrees outside, but inside the garage was probably closer to 65-68
I don't expect the car's battery temp gauge to ever move from middle lol (in fact, sales rep couldn't give an explanation for it since MX30 in US is supposed to be California sale only). Also, I assume any adverse battery temp would be communicated to the app somehow?

Will need to have a repeat of this possible issue with the MX to bring it up with dealership if this is not an already known issue.

Original issue solved. Owner's fault :D Had another "long drive" this weekend and finished at ~45% charge. 6:30 Am next day and charging stopped again. Checked schedule and I had it set from 12 midnight to 6 AM, instead of 6 PM, lol.

Next issue: The schedule is working, and I still do not have it checked off to Charge on Plugin. However, it look like as long as the clock is within the scheduled time (I have since set it to 12 Midnight to 3 PM) the car will start charging as soon as it's plugged in. E.g. if I plug in the car at 12:30 PM, it would immediately start charging. Not only that, but it would also end the charging promptly at 3 PM. Is this the same for every one (esp the Europe versions)?

My Honda Clarity PHEV, which is the only other EV-type I have experience with, will only "test" the schedule if the car is charged in Prior to the start of that schedule. So with the same 12 AM - 3 PM schedule, and I plug in the car at 8 Am, it won't start charging until the NEXT 12 Am rolls in. If I manually start the charging with the app, it will continue charging until either I stop it manually, or it hits 100% (I have never tried setting it to stop at < 100%)
