Hi mate, can you please forward me your cars full VIN, NOT certain you gave it to me before, I don't keep copies if anyone does.
I will check on some new info.

The same trouble - today I was updating my MX-30 FW, after update it turned off because of low 12V battery. Whole process took only 10 minutes without lights or heating ON. That's crazy...
I've just heard back from my local dealer and been advised that the 12v battery issue is due to the car trying to communicate constantly with the keys, despite the keys not being in range. They have arranged for new keys to be programmed, despite the issue being with the car???? They also said it's a known issue.
This is somwthing worth investing in....I think, I have one on order and will do some testing on it.
It is called the Faraday Box or Pouch and is said to isolate Car keys.

All Mazdas like everyother car use a similar system today and for people that like Proximity Keys then there is only one real way of it working and that is the key fox being active and communicating with car all the time, hence the battery will drain in Key Fob, and please none of this my old car never had an issue well your old car never had proximity key or the sercurity systems of cars made from 2019 onwards.

Key Fobs will go to sleep if around 4 metres away from car or you put in an isolation box at home like a Faraday Box or Pouch.
Put Faraday Box in eBay or Amazon search engine and you will see range, its not that expensive and perhaps worth a try, around $30 USD.

If it was a problem with looking for the key's, every single mx30 would have this problem.
Our mx30 stood still for over 3 weeks, no charging, and no problems yesterday.
Never had issues with the 12V battery.
That is probably because you park car that is over 4 metres from keys, so keys turn off correctly.
Just to clarify, the issue I have (I believe) is due to the car not receiving the signal from the key fobs to turn off, no matter how far away they are. I had the issue the other day after going for a long walk through a forest, so pretty sure it's not because they are in range. The car is meant to continue locking and unlocking, although not physically. I was advised that it is a common issue with Mazda's by the dealer.

It's not a common issue with Mazdas.
What is an issue with Suicide Doors to make sure they are closed correctly, correctly I mean a firm shut as sensor reads not shut and attempts to lock doors time and time again when you walk away.
Usually door adjar warning light stays on.
Thanks ASH8, and yes the doors are always shut properly. Unfortunately I can only go on what the dealer tells me, although this hasn't always been accurate, so I appreciate the comments.
Yeah not saying doors are not closed, however I have seen it when you think Suicide Doors are shut and look closed but are not. :)

In passing I am helping a person in USA who has the MTM made Mazda CX-50 and complaining about key fob Batteries going flat within 12 months (always a reason why). The person is complaining that the car is defective wah wah wah, my old Chevy of 2018 did not go flat wah wah.

After I explained that the Fob and Car are always communicating and the Fob wont go to sleep if under 4 metres from car, then the usual wah wah, the car is defective. Then owner comes back to say the parked CX-50 is close to where he/she/them leaves the keys/fob. Then the reply is the car is a bad design, I said no people want proximity keys/Fob so how else do manufacturers design this, they would soon complain if it was harder to enter locked car.

Thanks and yes my initial thought was that the keys might be in range, albeit they have always been over 4 meters away. I've tried keeping the keys at the furthest point in the house, which is probably around 10 meters away, but still encountered the problems.
On the 12V Battery issue, I just checked with 2023 MX-30 and it has the exact same Battery that has not changed and in fact is also used in the New MX-30 EV-R with Rotary Engine, same part numbers and brand YUASA.

Personally, I have always used Panasonic (another Mazda supplier of Batteries) or what comes with cars, My RX-8 went over 13 Years of age before it had to be replaced and my MX-5 12 years, and they still hold charge OK but don't have the cranking AMPS which is critical to start car. The secret is always make certain that the cells have plenty of distilled water to correct level (particularly the cells close to hot engine).

Anyway, appears some of you are still having 12V battery dying YUASA, I believe for these to fail it is something other than the Battery condition itself and why they are basically been overcharging by alternator or computer processor that controls supply to 12V battery.

I will keep an eye out and see what comes from Mazda, I just hope your Mazda Dealers ARE Updating ECU/PCM/BCM etc with MDARS even if Customer is not complaining of any issues. As you guys know I frequent many Mazda forums and the number of Mazda Dealerships who are basically frightened by anything new or computerised astounds me.
Yes Mazda does training but I dont know what percentage of Dealerships attend these sessions.

I'm getting a new issue now, which might be linked to the battery issue. I previously had alarm issues which were either activated from the app or when the charge was completed, but now I'm getting the same problem without charging or using the app. The alarm triggers, but no horn or hazards are activated and I can't turn it off with the key fob. Does anyone know if there is there a way to deactivate the alarm, or is it a case of disconnecting the 12v battery? Thanks
Car and App are communicating even when not in use, (read fine print), it's all good.
As the App communicates via TCU did you or Dealer update it?, sorry I can't remember the 100s of people I help this year.

If you have not updated Mazda Connect and TCU I strongly advise either you do or Dealer (you must complain of a communication issue with App for Dealer to do it, sadly).

Or maybe OTA is working OK for you.
Thanks ASH8 and no I haven't updated anything, but will check if the dealer has, as the car's been with them for the past few days.
Hi MX-30 (all Mazda Owners),
For those who have issues with Key Fob (proximity key) draining your cars Battery because car and keys are too closed together in carport then this is a cheap solution for you.

I purchased one Faraday Box PU Leather Shielding Storage Unit with 2pcs Pouch Sets For Key Fob from eBay and can confirm this isolated my Phone from the outside world. When we tried to ring the phone placed inside the Faraday Box all that happened was a short Dial and then dis-connection from caller would drop off (cut out).

I have not yet tested with Car KeyFob yet but I am certain the same results being the KeyFob goes to sleep when Fob is placed inside the Faraday Box and the car also does the same.

I better post a pic of the Faraday Box etc I purchased, appears well made.
Also the two pouches which came with this set will also shield your key fob, in this case I have 3 separate shielding units.

And yes you can also buy the lining (see inside box) in sheets of to make your own RFID shield.
