I have door rattle noises coming from both front doors (RHD car in Ireland) in my First Edition MX-30. Front right has a tapping noise when travelling on any road that isn't perfectly smooth - ie. most roads! Front left has a louder, but more intermittent, noise. These are really noticeable is an EV as the there is no engine noise to mask it.
Another thread said that was these door noises were common enough and that the dealer fixed them.
Can anyone advise if they have experienced this and if they managed to get it fixed under warranty?

Rattles are notoriously difficult to trace. I was convinced that the drivers door was rattling , RHD First Edition, but it turned out to be a plastic cover under the front of the drivers seat. The cover hides a few wires and it is located by a finger inboard and a pop catch outboard. The finger had missed the hole in the steel plate against which it then rattled. Quick fix and the supposed door rattle was gone.
The passenger door rattle turned out to be the heater nozzle in the passenger floor well. It flopped about and contacted part of the steelwork. I just taped a pad to the back of the nozzle and the rattle was gone. The drivers side wiggles about as well but on my car it doesn't contact anything to create a rattle.

Thanks for the tips on those rattle/noises and the solves you put in place. I will keep an eye out for them but mine is definitely the doors. When I lower the window the noises stop. It's like there is something loose in the door (a wire or a clip?) And when the window drops down it stops whatever is vibrating making noise.
I was hoping someone else had a similar problem as I asked my dealer and they sent a request to Mazda to see if this is a known issue with the MX-30.

Hi!

The tapping sound was in my case a misaligned door "lockbox" in relation to to the bracket, known by Mazda and fixed under warranty.

I also have some rattling in both front doors that in my case disappears when opening and closing the windows, then it returns when not opening the windows for a few days, I will ask the dealer to look into that is the plan.

Greetings!
Daniel

Update.
I dropped the car off at Mazda Stockport on Monday morning at 8:00 am,received a call at 11:30 am car was ready to be picked up.
It appears Mazda is aware of the issue and there is a fix. So far so good I have done 65 miles with no rattles from either the drivers or passenger doors. Fingers crossed it’s all sorted now.

Thanks for the update. I think I’ll book mine in - no rattle noise for the first 2000 miles and then it started…

Its back …… not as loud seems to be from the front door windows. Let them down put them back up the noise goes for a little then comes back. I have temporary stuck some Velcro on the top corner of both the door window glass will see if that cures it. Car rebooked in with RRG Mazda Stockport next Tuesday fingers crossed this can be resolved,as it’s really annoying. Not sure why some cars suffer with it and some don’t or maybe they all do it’s just a matter of time.
I will update this thread next week.

I have stuck a small piece of Velcro at the top corner of the window glass this has cured the rattle now.
I will see how it goes as I am not to keen on the dealer re aligning the window runners again only for the problem to return. Not an ideal fix I know but it worked and the rattle was really getting on my nerves.

I have exactly the same symptoms and temporary solution using the window opening/closing.

Dealer says they have now added "sound-proofing", i.e. they have not fixed the problem they're just trying to mask the problem. I don't know if this sound-proofing is approved by Mazda - the dealer seems reluctant to involve Mazda. The dealer offered to have a technician ride in the car but of course we know that the rattle can be temporarily fixed. My warranty ends in March.

Hey I picked up my MX-30 early March first edition love it, but recently a couple of weeks ago noticed the same door rattle also so this does seem to be a wide spread issue.

I already had it for back door handle squeak fixed by my garage, but this new noise that is very loud on the passenger side and faintly coming from the drivers side I noticed this when I was heading on a short trip to Galway from Drogheda (Ireland).

Saying that it seems to stop when I put the window down slightly which makes me think this the rattle is coming from the window. I am going to drop my car into a dealer during the week as it should be covered by warranty. I hope they don’t give me the run around.

My car went in for a 2nd time last week. Dealer added "sound proofing" but I can still hear a noise - this was after previously "tightening everything". On this occasion I had a courtesy car from the dealer - an MX 30 demonstrator and it also had the issue - not a great advert for the model I thought - the dealer was surprised though. I took the opportunity to record the noise on a short trip around town - about 4 miles. So I have this as evidence of what appears to be a design or manufacturing issue. And I agree lowering the window does seem to stop the noise briefly. I have now contacted Mazda UK direct and I'm hoping that the dealer plus the Mazda specialist can get to the heart of what is causing this rather than trying to mask the problem. I'm sure this pay dividends for Mazda to avoid many owners raising this issue.

I wonder if fitting a set of wind deflectors for the windows might stop the rattle ? at least a temporary fix if the garages aren't doing anything.

Personally not a big fan of using wind deflectors, they can sometimes damage the rubber seal around the window, but it might push against the
window enough to stop the rattle.

I’m also part of the door rattle club too. Bought in June. Rattles in both doors, can be intermittent and disappears temporarily when you wind the windows down and up. JCT attempted a fix but I don’t believe they did a thing. I had a courtesy MX-30 during the ‘repair’ and it had the same issue (just not as bad). I’m taking it to another dealer, closer to me, for them to take a look. Mazda really need to address this issue now - all cars rattle a little bit but this is ridiculous, it’s audible over very loud music and is clearly latent defect.

Hints from the German forum, pretty amazing that this removes the rattle for me and others!
Silicon spray at the marked area then it should be quiet.

As this is a slightly "messy" fix, someone over there has put a small piece of thick tape at a specific spot and
also got rid of the rattle. I'm ready to do the tape-fix anyday too, we will see if that's a good solution.

Good Luck!

Any updates on this? I have it too in RHD version 4 weeks old. I saw a YouTuber report this problem as being temperature related and known by Mazda. Foam in the doors contracts when cool and rattle starts. Eases off when warm.
Does this make sense to anyone as a possible source?
