OK. I kicked up a bit of a stink. The General Manager at my dealership called me to ask why I wasn't happy. I told him. I also contacted Mazda. Today both have said there is a "new" Mazda fix for the door rattle. Mazda: "I can confirm that Mazda Technical are looking into the previously outlined issue regarding the rattles in the doors of your MX-30. We have advised the Dealership of an updated fix for the issue and are now awaiting a response as to whether this has been carried out. As soon as I hear new information regarding this I shall inform you. Thank you for your patience in this matter. ". Dealer: "Mazda have told us of a new fix requiring new parts". I agreed with the dealer that they will try the fix on their own vehicles to see if this resolves the problem and, if it does, call me in to have the fix implemented on my car. I made it clear that I want honesty about the issue and to stick to Mazda approved fixes - not just for my car but for everyone. No more Heath Robinson fixes.

Dealer also told me of a further update to the app to try to resolve the 30 second car alarm issue which happens - sometimes - when initiating communication from the app. I've not had any problems for about a week now, I still don't have a reproducible scenario that triggers the alarm. Presumably the app communicates with the car indirectly - could this be a server issue; there must be someone in Mazda who knows what could trigger this 30 second of car alarm with no hazard lights?

Other than these issues, I'm still enjoying the car.

Thanks for the update. I suppose that at least they're making the right noises about continuing to address the issues. Here's hoping that they are on the right track and that you won't have to keep chasing them.
It's good to read that you're enjoying your car otherwise.

It will be interesting because at first I was told awaiting parts then sorry awaiting bulletin details. Mkii.px has now been told parts.....confusion or what!
I have also asked for fix details to be available when I drop the car off because if it is a repeat of last fix words will be exchanged. 7th of April here I come 🤞

Well, an update from the Netherlands.
First: after filling in the excel, mazda Netherlands said i was kind of first door rattle complainer in this little country….
Second: they advised the mazda specialist to outline both big doors with specific adjusting instructions.
Third: i was told this is under the 3years standard garanty, so zero costs.
Fourth: i drove home, like 100km and i didnt hear anything yet.
Fifth: as peace of mind, i bought 2 year extra garanty (only possible when car is less than 3years old).
Sixt: drove 7000km in 4 months, wife is still in love with mx30, me2.

Just come back from the dealers after they investigated the door rattle and was advised to return in a couple of weeks once they have ordered the relevant parts, although the service desk didn't know what was needed.

Interesting! Here in the Netherlands two weeks ago they got instructions how exactly to refit or rehang or adjust? the door alignment. After that alignment (3 years construction garanty, so no costs) i didnt hear any door rattle again yet. So no new stuff needed so far. Let u know if i hear something again. I can ask the dealership for the alignment instructions so i could share. Good luck!

I had the realignment done as per Mazda instructions..and checked against the spread sheet...noise back after a few months. Back in on Thursday for the latest Mazda fix that may involve parts or otherwise. I really hope your dealership fix does solve it long term for you but for my car here we go again. In the meantime my velcro fix is keeping it quiet

Just back from dealers:mad: silicon bl***y spray...I have a can in the boot and in the garage why in the name of the wee man did I need to go to the dealership for that. Words were exchanged... politely but forcibly...and told them to refer it back to Mazda as I am not a happy chappie. I also told them the reason I asked for details ahead of my visit was to avoid this very scenario...so why didn't they do as they said they would...more words exchanged. Complete and utter waste of my time😡🤬👹

Over to mkii.px to carry the baton whilst I await the Mazda response via the dealership.

I've been in contact with my dealer and they are unwilling to provide the technical bulletin number, but have advised that they will complete the following:
There is a fix where measurements and adjustments are checked and then a special conditioning compound is added to the door rubbers. (it is not silicone spray)
@Thebriggie Does this sound like the same "fix" which was applied to your car?

Yes, agree, they lead me to believe there was a list of parts required as they said they had to wait for them! I'll get back to my dealer and advise that I won't be wasting my time with the next visit and will await a proper fix . Thanks

I wonder if the conditioner is the same stuff as this, Liqui Moly 1538 Rubber Treatment, which can bought online. Darren it might be an idea to go ahead anyway assuming you haven't had the door alignment check done as at least you can say you have followed Mazda advice to the letter.
