I'm a bit of a reluctant guinea pig, as it takes 2 hours out of my day to drop off and collect the car, but they aren't prepared to do anything else, so will give it a go and will let you know how I get on.

I am with Milkfloat on this rubber to rubber issue. It would seem that first attempt...realignment...was to stop rubber on rubber sticking..failure. 2nd attempt was rubber conditioning spray, which is a longer lasting lubricant than silicon, stopping the two seals sticking together. Not a solution in my opinion just a sticking plaster (if you excuse the pun). My car has had both so it will interesting to see how long the rubber conditioner lasts. I have purchased Liqui Moly Rubber Treatment as a standby to try out if the noise returns.
So play/movement of the doors whilst driving is not an issue rubber on metal but is with rubber on rubber which is what we have on the mx30. This has my cranium wondering if the seals (potentially only at the top) are the wrong material and should be something akin to a silicon material rather than rubber (at least on one side) This would surely be a much reduced friction surface material. I am not sure my logic is correct so I am on a fishing expedition for other peoples opinions 🤔

Thoughts anyone?

I'm not qualified to make an authoritative comment on that Alan except to say that you could well be right 🤷‍♂️. Personally, I'll be content if the issue can be managed with the odd DIY squirt of Rubber Treatment, irritating as it may be to have to do that.

This problem is caused by "stick-slip" of 2 rubber seals. As the body flexes, the rubbers variously grab and then release. Automobiles rarely use rubber on rubber seals preferring to opt for rubber against painted metal. Now, clearly, Mazda and its dealers are clueless as to a solution and seem to try various different things. To me, the "fix" has to either be more stick or more slip but not both. Thebriggie solution is to pad out one of the seals and create stick and the various different lubricants are to give more slip. I am with a modified Thebriggie so no sprays for me and everything is fine. Just decide which one is for you after 15 minutes digesting what has gone before on this thread.

After 1 month and 2000km still no return of the rattle noise. I could ask the dealer for the specific allignment adjustments they had from mazda. Fingers crossed!

Dealers in Sweden has never heard of the issue and Mazda Sweden has no idea. Very frustrating!

I’m using the Velcro strips in the probmatic area and has now been a month and no noise has returned and that’s on both doors

I’ve had a “fix” by Mazda Cheshire oaks and I’m sure the driver window has started rattling again after a couple of months, anyone else had this after dealer intervention?

Yip. Got that t shirt. 1st fix door alignment and extra padding added inside the seal, top of the back doors. The noise came back after a few months. I reapplied my Velcro strip fix and that sorted it. Mazda booked it back in again. Rechecked door alignment and then used "a special seal/rubber treatment" spray after they removed my velcro. Seemingly a Mazda fix re the special spray. All quiet at the moment but I have no idea how long the spray treatment will last.

And pro-rider yip from intial launch on all cars to date. I believe in the states the 2022 model was just in reality the 2021 model, but with a year added for some reason you might know, given it was for sale in the fall of 2021? No difference on the seals I am aware of. The noise crept up on me after a few months of ownership. Hopefully it won't happen to you as some owners have never experienced the problem. Don't know if the latest model has a different seal on the doors.

Just back from dealers silicon bl***y spray...I have a can in the boot and in the garage why in the name of the wee man did I need to go to the dealership for that. Words were exchanged... politely but forcibly...and told them to refer it back to Mazda as I am not a happy chappie. I also told them the reason I asked for details ahead of my visit was to avoid this very scenario...so why didn't they do as they said they would...more words exchanged. Complete and utter waste of my time😡🤬👹

Over to mkii.px to carry the baton whilst I await the Mazda response via the dealership.

So... after contacting Mazda about the continuing rattle... I was told that Mazda had a solution that required a "part to be ordered"; I was hopeful. I was offered this Mazda repair but said I'd wait for the dealership to try it on some of their own cars. Today I took the car to be operated upon. It was done quickly - about 60 min after I left the car. I picked the car up this afternoon. I asked what was the part that had been used. "Oh no part, a 'special liquid' has been applied.". I look perplexed. "When I heard it, I didn't think this would work either, I don't know much about how it works, but the rattle has gone". I left less than impressed and a tad cynical. I can only wait. I wonder how long this repair will last.

Velcro sticky pads on both my doors 6 weeks on and still quiet, I won’t bother with Mazda fix if they offer it

Yeh, I came up with that solution but I am going down the Mazda official route as well as a just in case option. If it doesn't work I will put my velcro solution back in place.

Mazda recently issued a TSB for this problem, hopefully this will be a permanent fix for those who have been having this rattle issue.
If the dealer is having problem locating this TSB in their system, ask them to search for:

I have door rattle noises coming from both front doors (RHD car in Ireland) in my First Edition MX-30. Front right has a tapping noise when travelling on any road that isn't perfectly smooth - ie. most roads! Front left has a louder, but more intermittent, noise. These are really noticeable is an EV as the there is no engine noise to mask it.
Another thread said that was these door noises were common enough and that the dealer fixed them.
Can anyone advise if they have experienced this and if they managed to get it fixed under warranty?

Hi, I have had the same problem since I bought my MX30 last August. Both sides rattled….after taking the car in to the garage twice the driver’s side rattle seems to be cured but not the passenger side. I wrote directly to Mazda in the end as my dealership were at a loss….this is ongoing and very frustrating as the rattle is intermittent - just as I think this annoying rattle has stopped for good it comes back again! I have to take the car in again but they want to keep it for a few days so I have to wait until they have a courtesy car available. It seems minor and in that case should be very easy to fix!! Both MazdaUK and my dealership seem at a loss!!! You should be able to get the work done under warranty if not insist they tell you why! Good luck!
