Done, took about 2 hours. This was the first one done so timings may improve going forward. New piano black rear door embellishments on both sides of my particular model which are now sealed to hold off blemishes. New rear door(s) top rail/ channel and seal. See picture. Nothing changed on front door which was as expected. Here's hoping that's it's finally solved🤞🤞

looks a tidy job hope it does the job, for now I’ll stick to my home made remedy of Velcro pads as I’ve had no noise for 3 months now

Ciprotim, whatever works for yourself, and I am glad it is still silent. I wanted to go down the recorded fault route even though I implemented the velcro fix to silence the problem. If it is recorded by Mazda and not resolved that, in my opinion, gave/gives me leverage to continue pressing Mazda for resolution or otherwise. Hopefully this one is the end game.

1/ My velcro fix...worked
2/ Mazda padding.....failed after a few months
3/ Mazda wonder spray....failed after drying out
4/ Mazda new door seal....watch this space but still have plenty of velcro :)

Hi again

I had the Mazda wonder spray. Dampens the noise but should I hold out for the new door seal? I only do low mileage so maybe the drying out of the wonder spray hasn't happened for me yet?

Mkii.px in my opinion the wonder spray is/was not a permanent fix merely a sticking (or unsticking in our case) plaster. How long it lasts is a how long is a piece of string conundrum. Personally I would advise you to get the proper fix as it is also a production model change such is Mazda's confidence.

But it is down to individual choice but I feel happier having it done not just for myself but potential future owners.

Hi @Thebriggie, how are you getting on with the latest fix? With the recent heat I think my wonder spray has worn off, so back to having the rattle on both doors. I have mine booked in for next month, although the dealer was unaware of the bulletin, so just waiting for confirmation on when the parts will be available. Thanks

There is now an official Mazda Bulletin for rattling noises around headrest area, I assume this is the same issue.
The TSB was released today in USA and assume one for EU/UK soon.
The fix is to renew mouldings with modified parts.

Heya all. After sifting through 13 pages about rattling, I've to ask about the door rattle, which is coming from the armrest/window area. If I push my elbow toward the inner padding it disappears and then reappears again once I shift myself to more comfortable position. I've LHD model and this is on the left door only. Have not heard anything from the B-pillar and now I'm a bit skeptical if the dealership will actually fix anything (considering they're clueless about everything in my area). Any thoughts?

It's a known fix so they cannot argue their case. Get it done and then see if it still exists!

If not there is a velcro fix listed in this thread
Rightyo will do. I kinda like the car otherwise, since it's quiet, stable and runs like a dream. Off to the dealership I'll go then. I already looked into the velcro fix and managed to pillage through some of the stuff I've in garage, so I'll be ready whatever the case. Thanks!

Had a really annoying door rattle earlier. Right by my ear while I was driving - very similar to the sounds experienced by everyone else on here. Turns out it was a plastic box in the boot pressed up against the charging cable bag and rubbing against the metal clasp, causing the sound to transfer through the chassis and be amplified between the front and rear door.

Agreed it is difficult to pin down noise within a car as the point of sound may not be the root cause location. However Mazda know about the door hence an official fix so in my opinion if you haven't had it done and you have pressed windows, doors etc. and it goes away without locating any other potential cause get it done. No harm done except maybe a bit of your time
