There have been some mx30's where they did realign the locking mechanism of the rear doors, perhaps to remove play. It was more noticeable on earlier models I believe. My car did not suffer from rear door rattle as fitting all the temporary front door solutions on this forum 99% solved it (velcro patches on door and frame plus draught seal tape inside window rubbers at the same corner that Mazda just hopefully fixed! Hopefully mazda have taken that to 100%. With myself it is now a suck it and see scenario! Perhaps daftpunkerzz will get more info from his dealer early next year! See his post above

It all sounds a bit Heath Robinson (William Heath Robinson – Heath Robinson Museum).

I have rattling doors too. Iv read all ur posts about it. My mazda specialist tried to solve it with silicon spray in dec 2021.
And i paid for the fix that didnt work. My Question is: Did everyone pay the dealer for trying the problem solved? Someone said the garanty for rattles is 12 months?

The mini clubman has the same problem with his suicide door. I guess the car wrings (like cabrio's, no roof)? With no B-pilar in the middle, u cant expect the same stiffness in the construction? And therefore the doors move against eachother and the body?

Mine was done within warranty period so no charge. This forum states that car rattles are only covered for 12 months BUT if you have notified the dealer within 12 months and given them a chance to fix it, and they have failed to resolve it, I am pretty sure (uk wise) that this will ensure that they still have a responsibility to fix it! Not read detailed consumer rules but pretty sure fit for purpose rules apply!

My car is back with my dealer today. This is the 5th attempt to resolve this issue. I have not paid for any of these attempts - and the dealer has not made any suggestion that I should pay. The last attempt was (I was told) to insert some padding between the glass windows and the frame of the door. This seemed to work but the problem returned just before Christmas and the noise has gradually worsened as I drove the car. My mileage is low - I'm retired so the car is not used every day; the car has now done 3.5k miles. My latest empirical evidence is that opening and closing the front & rear doors creates a temporary resolution. I spoke to the dealer this evening and they have now raised a query with the Mazda Technical team as they currently have no solution to the issue.

I agree but may contact local Trading Standards department to check (usually a department of the local County Council).

This gets stranger. My dealer told me mazda had a fix which they applied plus this was also posted. Who is speaking with forked tongue I ask? I wonder if daftpunkerzz got told what the actual fix was?

So I finally got word back from the Mazda dealer that I bought my car off, and apparently Mazda have officially created a fix for the rattle and they have me booked in for the 4th of January to resolve it.

I was also told my car is going to be used for training other garages in Ireland so that’s pretty interesting, there will be some sort of rep coming to dealer to show how to fix this issue, may mean it’s done right the first time.

Fingers crossed this thread has finished up with this been the fixed by Mazda officially time will tell.

I should perhaps clarify - it's the dealer that doesn't have a solution. I don't (yet) know if Mazda have a solution (beyond the one that was implemented previously).

Maybe they haven’t sold any, or only to people with bad hearing.

Mazda Guildford is looking at mine today as they have the car in for the 12v battery software update. Tom in service knew of the door problem as soon as I raised the issue; I didn't ask him if that was local or national knowledge but I will ask him this afternoon. I will be interested to see what they do.

I would be interested if this "fix" is a local or global thing. I haven`t contacted my dealership regarding this rattle, but it starting to bugging me out.
Also, this is in Bulgaria and here things are happening a bit slowly than usual.

It's from Mazda UK here as they source the bits apparently. One would assume that it is understood by the European headquarters though with car manufacturers and dealers, I have learnt not to make assumptions. For now, try the silicon or PTFE spray. It definitely works but wears off after a few weeks. Only thing is, I still haven't worked out how the "Mazda fix" which seems to insert pads to change the relationship between door and window is fixing the same problem as lubricant spray between 2 rubber seal assemblies.

It would be good to actually see the technical bulletin from Mazda to try and understand the diagnosis (if any) and solution recommendation! Dealer wouldn't show me it!!!

I took mine into the dealer yesterday and they sprayed it to ‘fix it’. Would be really interested if Mazda have an actual fix (and what it is)

Better result than the software upgrade which it was booked in for. Went to pick the car up at the end of the day only to be told that they hadn’t been able to upgrade the software due to not having the right part (which they have now had to order!)
