from Doug's POV the car is disappointing and he is right.
The problem is Mazda launching it in US/ANZ - not US reviewers complaining about the car (rightly).
In US this is perceived as a compliance car - and honestly - it is.
I agree, the review is fair. With the current single tiny battery option, the MX-30 is only just about usable where I live (with my own off street parking), most journeys being trips into town and back, and we have a pretty good charger network here.
In the US, distances are much larger, the charger network is far less developed, and people who lie in the cities (where the car makes more sense) tend not to have offstreet parking. A 50kWh battery would have been the smallest reasonable size for that market.
