Just got this picture from EV Accessories Ireland. Dont represent them at all, just wanted to keep you guys posted. 35 litres wich might seem a smidge on the small side considering the space available. They wrote that if all goes well will go into production in a couple of weeks.

The idea might seem like low hanging fruit and why Mazda made nothing to date of this opportunity is a bit of a mystery.

I have emailed them recently. The only issue is that it needs new fixings into the bodywork as you know. That may affect warranty but only Mazda can tell us. If it is easily removable with no tell tale signs that would help. Other than that it's a great product and I may be tempted.

Alan the dealbreaker is the meddling with the body work at least for yours truly. This is your kind of thing right? There s got to be a leave the metall alone solution? Foam, padding dont have a clue. Please advice! No blame shifting no legal BS just want a few pointers. Would be super grateful🙏

Vivamazda, yip the issue with this frunk is the bodywork fixings. If we could use existing fittings that would be great. Other than that we need a bonding solution such as super strength epoxy resin with the bodywork taking the weight somehow and the bonding agent merely holding it tight for safety reasons. I await this solution being available with absolute fixing details and pricepoint. I have looked at other homemade solutions but I have not yet found anything I personally would be 100% happy with...but I keep looking👁

If we want it to be removable for servicing etc. then no bonding just fixing straps or bolts would be required.

200 quid is peanuts to get rid of those f-----g cables dude! In my humble opinion anyway.
That is a true bonus of using gasoline. Sure its dirty, smelly and bad for your health and the planet. But is has to be said. No-one expects you to leave the gas station with rubber tubes and nozzles. Love driving electric but those cables🤬

as said if I were them I would address first something like this as they have done for Kia Niro
they should re-design both inserts - plenty of space available there. They should create 2 versions one including the re positioning of the subwoofer to the top insert - leaving a massive space closer to the boot opening. Dropping them an email :)
Update - supplier already replied with thanks for the input and they will definitely look into this - stay tuned
