Hi all - greetings to the new MX-30 community! Pretty new owner here, having picked up my MX-30 on 11-May here in Melbourne, Australia.

I’m a bit jealous of all the all-electric owners on here. I feel like I’m the only one with the Hybrid edition on this forum - our EV infrastructure in Australia is seriously lacking, so the EV version isn’t even available here yet. But, if anyone has any question about the “mild hybrid“ version, ask away!

Hey Aus_Mack!
How are you finding the MX-30 Hybrid so far? I got mine in April - I genuinely think I was one of the first in Aus to get one - and although was in love with it to start with, now not loving it so much. What are your thoughts a few months in?

Waiting on these in the US. Very very interested to hear your experiences so far -- good and not so. Happy sailing!
Have had mine since early August... I'll give you some thoughts. A superb drive, nicely engineered, and handles city and long distance--including mountains--with equal ease. Leaps lumpily over speed bumps though (is it the short wheelbase or the suspension settings?). The steering wheel spokes--at some adjustment angles--totally hide some of the lower panel switches, and the two column stalks could be mounted a bit higher so the marked scale positions on them are easier to see. They hide behind the spokes as well. The 'floating console' of course doesn't float anywhere, but does provide a hidden nook for you to hide your phone and other items and forget them when you get out of the vehicle (and Mazda designers must have been into the sake the week they decided to hide the USB ports down there as well). I see the 100th Anniv Japanese model has an HDMI port as well... not so the Aussie one. The electric driver's seat adjustment for use by back seaters is far too slow in operation. I found operation of some of the electronic smarts hard to come to terms with. That is because [1] I never had a vehicle with these advanced features before, and [2] the manner in which the Owners Manual is written has to be Mazda's greatest ever cluster ...k. Just ask any dealership sales executive. I'm happy.

Hey BraedynE - I suspect we got the first ones! I also got mine in April. I had a choice of white, or white. LOL

I love it, but I'm not in love with it, if that makes sense.

Fun little car. Very unique on the road as I've yet to see another. Amazing tech, IMHO - I haven't owned a car since 2007 - so I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of sensors, self-driving, multiple-screens, etc.

Not as much power as I had hoped. And I'm not sure if I have a battery issue or not, but I'm surprised how often the engine has to kick on at red-lights; and the other day, I had the boot/trunk open for an hour, and got the dreaded "12V battery is running low" alert - I think it was powering a single light bulb!

For nav & entertainment, I use Apple CarPlay, and got a CPLAY2air adapter, which was game changing! No more plugging in the USB cable for little jaunts in the city.

So, in short, I'm very happy with MX. It does what we need it to do, and it has style and fun tech. Would I like a little more oomph? Definitely. But the times I've needed it are pretty rare.

Hi BraedynE.

I`m looking into getting an MX30-M Hybrid, would you mind sharing your experience?

Does anyone know where I can buy seat covers for the front seats of the MX-30?

Hi Aus_Mack,

I am really surprised it even exists, a hybrid. Last I've heared it would not be build at all ?! You have the 'rotary-engine=generator' version ?
Or is is a traditional 4-cylinder PHEV ?

Love to see a pic from under the hood..
