Hi there! I just acquired a new MX-30 Premium Plus today here in LA. I’ve done a lot of research and watched plenty of reviews. This is my first step into the EV world so I’m excited to experience the ride and test the range.
Hi Jetson,

good choice! I know that in the US, MX30 received a lot of criticism. Just a curiosity: yesterday, Mazda claimed 200 EV sold in 2021 in CA. Have you received any feedback from people while driving around?

Hi Wimac,

Thanks! I haven’t received any feedback quite yet, but I haven’t seen any other MX-30 model out on the road anywhere here near me. My dealership did tell me they’ve sold 6 other models though.

I'm really interested to hear the views of a US MX-30 owner, all American reviewers have been very critical of the machine (perhaps rightly so, my time in North American has always been punctuated with long drives, so I understand why range is such a priority there), so it would be good to hear some real experiences.

Congratulations! I'm an MX-30 Premium Plus owner as well here in Long Beach, CA! I absolutely LOVE my MX-30! I can honestly say I've never loved a car more than this one. The range is no issue to me at all as I barely drive. Glad to see other SoCal owners on here! Would love to hear your thoughts on your first EV experience. This is my second EV.

I drive about 100 miles a month so maybe I'm not like most Americans and this car is the perfect fit for me haha. I live in an apartment building so I can't charge where I live. I take my MX-30 to the ChargePoint DC fast charger at the beach and take a walk on the beach while it's charging. It's such a great experience! Plus mine came with a $500 ChargePoint credit so my fuel is free (for now). It also seems like it charges way faster than my Chevy Bolt did, probably because of the smaller battery. I absolutely LOVE my experience so far with this car! I get so frustrated by all the bad reviews because I feel like they immediately skip over all the amazing stuff about the car (comfort, quality, driving dynamics, suspension, uniqueness, etc) all because they think the range is "anemic" or they call it a "compliance car" and rant the whole time about it. I'm considering doing my own Youtube channel of an MX-30 owner's first-hand experience with the car.

Hi Jetson,

Another SoCal MX30 owner down here in South Orange County. We love the car, and it works great for us to commute everyday to work in. People really like the looks of the car, they just get a little nervous about the range.
Hi there!

That’s great to hear! I definitely agree, it’s a great commuter car and I love the looks!

Hi there,

That’s wonderful to hear, I love mine as well! I have no issue with range either and it’s great to see more SoCal owners as well.
As far as the experience it’s been awesome, I’ve loved every aspect of it. Charging is so easy with all the stations around me, including some free ones, plus the ride and interior is so luxurious it definitely makes it a joy to drive each time. If you make that YouTube channel let me get on it!

Totally agree all reviews I have seen have been very critical and I guess I can understand why, but this car does work for a lot people. Where I live it works exceptionally well. The charging infrastructure here is great in my opinion, there’s so many locations nearby and whenever you may need to go. While range is great to have, I feel that as long as there are plentiful convenient locations to charge then that in a way gives some sort of balance. I personally don’t mind the range at all and feel it’s great for the city life. If I ever need to take it for a longer drive I’m not too worried as there are plenty of fast charging stations here. But for city traffic so far for me it’s been excellent.
