It's the time of the year for me to renew insurance on my car and I have been getting a few quotes. I have previously been with Direct Line but this time I was told that the underwriters wouldn't insure me but without any explanation. The girl I spoke to was confused as she couldn't see any reason for cover to be refused. Does Direct Line just not like the MX-30?
I have had quotes from other insurers so slightly confused.
I won't be going with Mazda Insurance as they were a couple of hundred pounds more expensive than my current insurer.
Has anyone else had issues with Direct Line?

That's a surprise re Direct Line. I suppose insurers could be wary of EV's in general because it's a relatively new technology, and parts and expert labour can be hard to source. 🤷

had direct line with my mini before the MX-30 and they tend to insure everyone (in my case 0 history in UK) and be cheap too. On top they have been pushing a lot in terms of EV insurance - so no idea why they should not insure yours.

I was effectively a new, client as I have been with another insurer for a couple of years now. Still have home insurance with Direct Line.
Quote was declined for no reason online and same result with call centre who were just as confused but said they never get reason from underwriters.
Iam ex Police and currently with Police Mutual so don't think it's anything to do with me.
Direct Line's loss!
