Has anybody found a way to unlock the charging cable when the rest of the car unlocks with the keyless?
I find it frustrating that you can unlock the car and drive away with the key convieniently in your bag... But unlocking the charging cable... NOOOOOOOO.
The locking settings only allow you to have the locking on or off?!?

I hadn't thought to use the unlock button on the door, thanks for the tip.
I still fail to see why keyless entry to the vehicle shouldn't unlock the charging cable. When you are about to juggle with a cable, the last thing you need is a set of keys in your hand. Merc have managed with the cable locking being linked to the keyless for well over half a decade! Never heard any complaints about it!

Just to add almost every time I unlock (keyless) the connector is also unlocked so long as I don't hang about more than a minute. Occasionally it doesn't but no rhyme or reason. What are your door lock settings as a matter of interest? Mine is set to lock in gear unlock in park with an automatic relock time of 30sec.

Probably, it's done to prevent someone accidently remove the charging cable, when it's still charging.
Especialy with dc charging, it can result in very nasty effects and injuries.
Marcel21674 The problem is keyless entry not unlocking the charge cable. Surely irrespective of charging or not the cable should be removable. How many of us stop charging before removing cables? The design of the cables makes contact nigh on impossible unless you poke at it. And also when you remove a cable from the car end the charge signal is immediately disconnected so the charger should stop charging? So I get your thinking but don't think (with my limited knowledge) that is the root cause of the problem. Just tested it on my car and upon connector unplug at car end the power on the cable stopped.

I have wondered this exact same thing. I'm coming from a Chevrolet Bolt EV and the charger would always unlock along with the keyless entry. Not in the MX-30! Unless it's a setting I'm missing somewhere??

As previously stated it works keyless every time for me after unlocking the drivers door. See below. Let's go through some basics. When keyless opening do you unlock the drivers door before unplugging the cable (I assume yes) Is your charging setting set to lock when connected or charging? Should not make a difference but let's tick it off! (It is only these options or off) When did you get the car (has there been s/w updates if you were an early buyer). What actual model do you have (again shouldn't make any difference). Can't find any other setting relating to keyless unlock. I honestly don't know if certain chargers will not allow unlock unless charging is stopped. Podpoint certainly does not prevent unlock. Anyone else think of anything I have missed?

Charge Connector Lock
The charge connector lock is a function
which locks the charging connector
connected to the vehicle so that it
cannot be pulled out.
You can also select the lock conditions
for the charging connector according
to locations and situations.
For the setting method, refer to
Charging Settings on page 3-26.

Locked When Connected
The charging connector is locked at
the same time the charging
connector is connected. The
charging connector is unlocked for 1
minute after the driver’s door is unlocked

Locked When Charging
The charging connector is locked
only while charging. The charging
connector is unlocked when the
charging is finished. In addition, the
charging connector is unlocked for 1
minute after the driver’s door is
unlocked, even while charging.
Select Locked When Charging when
leaving the vehicle while charging at
a public charging station where
people are waiting to charge their vehicle.

Off, does not lock connector

Ah! Looks like it's a setting then, I will see. In answer to your questions: 1. What I want to happen (and what happened on the Bolt) is to just walk up to the car, put my hand on the door handle sensor (which unlocks all doors) and the charger should unlock along with the doors. That doesn't happen though. 2. I need to check my charging settings I guess. 3. I got the car 2 weeks ago in the US so I would assume it has all the updates. 4. I have the Premium Plus model with all the bells and whistles (except native navigation). 5. I'm charging on a level 1 charger just plugged into a regular socket lol. I'm not using any Level 2 or Level 3 chargers yet.

Inlovewithmx30, that's exactly how it works for me every time with my uk gt sport tech model. Hand in the door and you can hear the charge cable unlock at the same time, it makes a solid thunk noise for want of a better description. If you cannot hear it then we have an issue to resolve as the unlock just ain't happening!

Thank you for that! I'm gonna check that out along with the settings and see what I notice.

OK, next thing to knock down. Have you actually checked that when you unlock drivers door using the hand the passenger door unlocks as well? The reason I ask is some other mazda models have a keyless setting for unlock drivers door only or unlock all doors which the mx30 should not have! Apologies for so many questions

It's possible that some of the problems in this thread, might be this issue, listed in this TSB, if your MX-30 has a VIN below 117505, if so visit your dealer for a PCM update.

Wow! Thank you for that! My VIN would fall into that however mine begins with JM1 (not Z). Everything else matches up. Interesting though!

Yes actually the way I got the car, the keyless entry would only unlock the driver's side door so I changed this in the settings so that it unlocks all doors now.

As a matter of interest where was the door lock setting you changed? I can't seem to find it on my UK model.

Next question: with no cable in and car locked...when you open drivers door with hand does charge point flap unlock. Also if you open using passenger door first does that unlock it? Scraping the barrel now!

The charger lock opens with the fob so no unlock problem. It doesn't work with keyless so definitely keyless issue. No settings to change other than as discussed. Factory reset is my last suggestion. The well of possibilities is running dry! Other than that beginning to settle on s/w issue that needs dealer intervention.

I will go back through the steps next time I'm in my MX-30 and let you know where I found that setting. I wonder if it's a US only thing? Also in answer to your questions, yes to both! When I open driver's side door with just my hand I hear the charge flap unlock and when I open passenger side door with just my hand I also hear the charge flap unlock.
