Hi

Question
As per the (UK) manual, when locking the car manually, 2x presses of the button on the remote or touching the car door handle twice are required in order to lock, then deadlock - each different providing a different noise.

However, when using the smartphone app or the setting to 'auto-lock when walking away', only one locking sound is heard! So are these options combining locking & deadlocking into 1x action? The manual doesn't seem to confirm for the latter!

Gripe
When using the 'auto-lock when walking away', I note that:-
  1. Sometimes it doesn't work!
  2. If you put something in the car on one side, close the door then walk round to the other side, the feature activates!
Cheers

Hi Alan, that's not my understanding at all! Locking once locks the doors and locking twice (optional) deadlocks the doors so some wazzock breaking your window can't then open your door from the inside. It would seem rather stupid if the deadlocking wasn't automatically performed wouldn't it?

I'm not sure the auto-lock timing itself can be altered but good call and I'll check. I suspect all that can be altered is the autolocking timing of the doors after you drive away, which I'm sure I upped to 60 seconds.

As a Software Tester it drives me bananas that essentially perfectly good cars have such irritating feature design, almost as if no-one actually bothers to go through any real world scenarios prior to release!

And I was right. I have noticed though that if I walk round the back of the car instead of the front, it doesn't seem to lock (in the time taken to move between each front door)!
