I have been asked privately what is the cost of the MX-30 Battery Pack as a replacement part.

Well yes they are very expensive, large and heavy. The good news is the genuine part number is the same for all MX-30s worldwide, if and when the times comes they are much cheaper in USA, but shipping cost/tax may be prohibitive.

US prices is anything between $14,300 and $21,400 USD.
UK it looks around 15,000 UK pound.
EU 17,000

Mazda Part number is MHY1-30-210

Not certain of the exact composition of Mazdas battery pack, but like most AFAIK the packs are a series of many smaller round lithium batteries in series inside a holder crate.

As far as charging EVs, none really like holding a full 100% charge all the time, in fact it has been proven if you maintain your battery at an 85% full rate or less (not 100%) you will be rewarded with a longer battery life.

Also people like talking about fast or ultra fast charging is not healthy for the health of battery as the charging heat is an enemy. A standard overnight charger will give a more reliable long term life and result.
