Hello All, I'm considering the MX-30 as a daily commuter, just wondering about the HV battery reliability so far, especially people who have already driven it for a lot of mileage. Thanks

Hi, more than 2 years of ownership, apr 50000 km driven, all good. Battery health 95-96 %, manufactured by Panasonic. Due to slow DC charging speed, max 37 kW with warm battery, and 15-25 kW with cold but good BMS the degradation is less than most of the EVs. Car is designed for daily commuting for max 100 miles. My max summer range was 152 mi, and winter is 110-115 miles. Due to small battery and low charging speed drive beyond this range is painful. Overall fun to drive and premium interior an quality I like it.

Still better than my 2017 33.5KWh focus electric (car I want to replace) where I get 180KM in the summer and 120 KM in the winter (Im in Canada) . Thanks for the update. I did hear that 2022 model has improved DC fast charging. I really wanted a Mach-E but the min price on the lowest trim with 70KWh is over $60K with Canada federal rebate of $5000, where as the MX-30 will be about $38K

How did you get the 95 to 96% number for battery health? Regular check up at garage? Would be great to know really curious Many insisted battery health would be worse because of the smaller battery pack, tougher cyckling, closer to extremes. All the best from Sweden

Daily commuting seems to be what Mazda had in mind for the current full EV MX-30. As a "city car", you simply won't find a nicer car for the money (drive quality and specification).
Things only get tough when you want to do long drives where the availability of charge points is dubious.

About three times per year we need to use our mx-30 outside of its approx 100 mile round trip range, fortunately the routes we travel are well served with charge points, but you need to factor in unserviceable/unavailable charge points and have backup locations prepared..
