This RAC review makes reference a couple of times to the MX-30's fake engine sound being revised in the 2022 MY cars. Anyone heard it yet for a comparison?

I assume Mazda have still not done the decent thing and made the sound easily switchable from the infotainment menus.

Another mention here in UK Auto Express, which goes into a little more detail : "Also fettled is the ‘EV sound’ system, which provides the driver with audible feedback tied in with throttle usage. For the 2022 car Mazda says it’s optimised the noise so that it is “more aligned with other sounds heard when the car is running, such as wind or road noise – so the driver can recognise the amount of power in a natural manner without the sound being unusual”.

I'll still wager most drivers would want it turned off.

I am aware you can turn it off. There are plenty of instructions here on this very forum. My point was that if Mazda have been fiddling with the noise they could have perhaps added a simple on/off switch in the menus. The current method of switching off is like performing a combo playing Mortal Kombat!

Mine has been switched off after the last update. Still deciding whether to put it back again or not??

I like it off much better. It just seems more pleasant to me.

Would be nice it they replaced it with a V8 soundtrack.. .. if only to tease the ICE-haters.. I'm not 'in' the MX30 for any environmental reasons.
Its just a cheap (we have massive CO2 taxes on ICE cars) new car that does what we need around the house.

And by shear luck, it keeps us mobile now petrol prices are off the scale..
