Hi everyone.
For a couple of weeks I’ve had a very irritating rattling noise from somewhere behind/inside the dashboard. I think I could describe it as the sound you can hear when you keep ice scrapers in the door pocket and they vibrate when driving (if you live where there is snow and ice I believe you can find that familiar🥶).

There’s also a dull noise from somewhere in the area of the right wheel that occurs when driving on roads with small bumps or on cobble stone. Sounds like a loose shield or something. It occurred about four weeks after I got the car.

The Mazda service guy heard it all as well and will take the car in to look it up. But he has already told me that it will be difficult to find the cause.

What if they don’t find it and can’t fix it? I don’t want to have this noise disturbing my driving. It’s very obvious so you don’t have to concentrate to hear it.

I want my quiet Mazda back….😭

Anyone else with the same issue/s?

Hope you get it sorted.
In the uk the car gets a 3 year warranty, however I was informed by my Mazda dealer that rattles are only covered for 12 months … how daft is that.
Thanks ,JohnG123. In Sweden Mazda offers a 10 year “product warranty” but I suppose rattles have a limited coverage here as well. The car will soon turn 3 months, so they still have time to sort it out.
I’m just worried about what happens if they can’t fix it…. Will they just tell me: “Live with it”….?

Bummer, I hope it will get fixed!

I also start hearing some noises coming from the driver side door. I am pretty sure it is the rubber losing a little bit and seems to be a well known issue.
I will ask the dealer to check it out when I will bring back the car for the annual (!!!) inspection in November.

I am just wondering if we are so picky with these noises because of how much quiet this car is. Are we more aware of every single noise and rattle than what we would have been with a petrol car?

I´ve had the door noise as well, and they were very aware of that at Mazda. They took it in and I haven't heard it since.

You may be right; maybe we are picky. But the noises I have now have all developed over time. They were not there from the start. That's why I'm sure something has happened somewhere inside the car. Maybe something came loose for some reason, I don't know. But I hear noises that I don't even hear in my old Volvo from 2011 that has been rolling for 280,000 kilometers. The Mazda has been rolling about 3500 kilometers, so I think it's fair to expect it to be pretty quiet. :)

I hope you get the door noise fixed. That should not be news to Mazda. (There are posts about it here in the forum as well)

Yes I also have the door rattle. I took it back to my dealer who "tightened everything" but after about 10 miles the rattle was back. I can resolve the noise problem temporarily by opening the driver's door window to the full extent, then close it again, then the noise goes but is back again within about 10 miles. The car is back with the dealer today (the parking sensors stopped working, I think after the dealer tried to solve the door rattle). Interestingly I was given another MX30 demonstrator and I can hear the door rattle on the demonstrator too. This suggests to me a design or manufacture issue. I think we need to get a statement from Mazda on this.

Yes, I could also solve the rattle temporarily by doing exactly that.
I haven’t heard the rattle since Mazda said they solved it, but I won’t be surprised if it comes back. The rattle from inside the dashboard is worse in my opinion. But I don’t think any of them should be present on a new car.
