Does anyone know how software updates will be handled for the mx-30 ? Over the air or via the dealer

Thanks
You can update the navigation software yourself, through the Mazda website. Just take you the SD card from the car, put it into your computer, and follow the instructions. This is free of charge for three years (in the Netherlands).

Car software will be updated by the dealer .

Updates apart from entertainment has to be done by Mazda Garage.
An Over the Air connection can be made from Mazda for diagnosis in case of problems and of course to sync your MyMazda App. But I can only speak for the German way

I can't tell you the Version-Number. But in our German Forum, there are many MX-30-Driver who did an Update to fix a problem. MyMazda reported, that charging is fully done, but in real it wasn't. But it continues charging, but the status-led at the charging unit is also of.
So when you looked at all facts (app an LED) you thought charging ist completed ... but that was not the truth.

After the Update from Mazda, the issue is fixed.

Also there is a false error recognition ... Trigger Number $1A7 ... but that is not an error. You geht this message every time your MX-30 is SoC 100 to circa 93% and you choose full Recuperation on the Paddles ... only the Message in your Cockpit would be ok, so you know whats going on. But it isn't an error to be locked in error memory OBD ... but in this case I cannot answer, if this is also fixed ...

I will have to contact my Garage for Update, then I will see, if any other changes were made

Thank you for the information. It’s very helpful

I assumed there was version number one could look up in the infotainment system. Pretty common feature
Yes, but that's not the number of Engine Control Unit Version. Only the Version of your Entertainment Software. In this Case there is no Change (Compared this with someone you gets his Update already).

But you can already Update your Navigation Maps ... that's really simpel. Only install Mazda UpdateTool and insert your SD-Card into you PC/Mac and follow the instructions ...

So if you bring your car to Mazda for a software update there is no way to see if it was updated ? The ID.3 owners are all talking about what version software their car has before and after the update.
Seems very weird to me

I don´t know, if there is a way to find out, which software version is actually installed. But that is a good question for my Mazda Garage. I will ask for that and stay tuned ;)

@Bert Do you happen to know what the latest version is for the mx30 software. Would like to make sure my car has the latest before picking it up :)
I have not heard from Mazda about a new version, and frankly I found very few issues in the software that appear flawed. So I do not feel a major update is needed right now.

However, I think you may count on it that you get the latest version with your new car.

There are more issues.

The MX-30 notifies far to early, that it is fully charged, but it isn’t. Also the Staus LED turns off. But the charging process is still going on.

Some DC-Charging Stations don’t work with MX-30, but with other vehicles.

If charging is started and you turn on ignition, it is possible that all fans will start. When you turn off the MX-30 they won’t turn off until you unplug the Charging Cable.
