Hi,

3x questions:-
  1. Are updates released? And are they applied in the same way as any software update?
  2. How are errors flagged to Mazda?
  3. Am I going mad or did I initially get a warning like "speed camera ahead, reduce your speed" whereas now I just get "reduce your speed"?
.. and 1x annoyance:-
  • It would be useful to be able to change the distance from the camera at which the alert sounds!
  • And even moreso if that distance could depend on the speed the camera is monitoring.
Cheers

1. Mazda connect updates can be done over the air (OTA) and the car will ask you to confirm the update Installation.

2. Car s/w updates are via the dealer workshops. They are done if
A: It as a recall update
B: During a service or dealership visit or query (always ask if any updates are available)
C: if you hear of it via this forum for example and you are experiencing the issue raised in the bulletin.

Error messages can be monitored by Mazda via the Mazda main server connection to the cars or by dealer/customer feedback.

I don't think tsr can detect speed traps but will indicate speed limit and indicate excessive speed. Sat nav will indicate where any long term fixed cameras are located I believe but have never tried going into nav setting menu to see if alert timings can be adjusted.

Cheers Alan and you've misunderstood my error enquiry I think?
I'm asking how to tell Mazda its speed camera database is light years out of date as regards one camera alert?

Right, gotcha, I must admit to not having got onboard using my phone like that, either on its own or via connecting to the car. Have you done the latter? Might you have any tips on that you could share in a separate post? 🤔😁

I use android auto to connect my phone and it opens up loads of options and hopefully soon to be more apps that can lead you to an ev charging station that has available chargers....never liked Mazda's sat nav and have used many an impolite word at it when driving....
