Hello all. How is everyone else finding their range in the summer months compared to the winter months? I was getting around 120 miles on a full charge in the winter but down to around 100 miles for the summer. The range might have been impacted due to a couple of longer motorway drives and having to blast the air con with the recent heat, but just wondering how everyone else is doing? Thanks

Darren, earlier in the year I was getting estimated 124 to 128. During these last few weeks it seems stuck at around 119 or lower using the same routes, same driving style, same ancillary usage etc. I have put it down to the temperature we are currently experiencing but interested to hear other users experience.

My summer average is 4.4 miles/kWhr. Winter was 3.4 miles/kWhr. Recent hot weather has made little discernible difference. On the other hand, -5C kicks the stuffing out of range with 3.4 miles requiring very careful economy management. My driving is probably around 25% dual/carriageway/motorway.

Your finding looks abnormal. I have my car for two years now, and in Summer the range is a lot more than in Winter. In Summer I do over 200 km, unless it is very hot and the aircon needs to work full blast. In Winter I barely make 170 km, and possibly even less if I need the heating a lot.

When I run the aircon in mild summer weather, the range is barely affected. However, when it was over 30 degrees outside, I lost nearly 20%.

I have not noticed any battery degradation over these two years.

Hi and thanks for the reply. The range has now returned to normal, so I think it was just a combination of using the air con and a long journey (160 miles) with the majority being on motorways.

Oddly the summer range seem to be better this year than last. Warmer weather???
In summer you can easily do 140 miles with little effort and in winter that goes way down to a bit more than 100 miles. For yours truly.
Motorways and high speed is not where the MX-30 or any EV shine rangewise. No news I guess... Have been slightly baffled by the traffic load and congestion on UK motorways in general. The good news is that should mean better range.
But if range is your number one priority do just shorter stints on the motorway and go discover the British countryside.
Its not the destination but the way to it that makes the journey worth while. Swedish saying, lousy translation.
