I am very happy with my aftermarket towbarset for my bike carrier.
Trekhaak Mazda MX-30 100% Elektrisch kopen Burghof trekhaken
Burghof delivered the Aragon (made in Spain) towbar including the logic box for € 570.=
WEMA located in Lathum (NL) assembled at a fixed price of € 300.=
The towbar is detachable and the connection box slides upwards out of sight when unused.

That looks great! How does the car handle with all the extra weight on the back seeing as the centre of gravity was towards the rear to start with?

I was looking into this and apparently the MX-30 dose not and will no have a toe bar rating and my Mazda dealer told me it would void the warranty.

It looks great, but not sure if it depends on how it’s mounted: MX-30 Towbar

Interesting thought and it could become a long response. However, to keep it as short as possible lets tear your remark apart:

1) Warranty comes from from Mazda: a total void would be the end of a discussion in which Mazda is able to proof that your claim is the result of the added tow-bar. I see not much possible links. The switch-box maybe, but that is proven technology on very many cars and has warranty from installing dealer.

2) Tow-bar rating comes from road and traffic authority. Mounting is allowed, towing not, but carrying bikes is no towing and thus also allowed.

3) In general first generation electric cars have no towing allowance because of torque behavior, but then look again at your MX-30. In some countries it is delivered as petrol only, with allowance for the towing bar. As the MX-30 is the same frame, you find tow-bar preparation in place.
