Thanks for allowing me the time to look into the points raised with the Mazda MX-30 and I am sorry I missed your call today.

To answer the first question, there are no recurring 12v technical issues that we are aware of, with the MX-30. We can look into this further but would need a technical report raised by the diagnosing Mazda dealership with detailed information so the UK Technical Support team can investigate and advise further.

In relation to DC charging, the resistance changes as the battery state of charge increases, which causes the charge rate to fall due to that change in resistance. Temperature also plays a part as the car is doing everything it can to protect the longevity of the battery. Although we quote 20-80% charge in 36 minutes, this is at an ambient temperature of 20°c and with all other conditions being ideal, i.e. battery temp within the ideal range, etc.

There is a PCM update that allows winter mode to be activated at 5°c rather than -5°c, which would help, as the battery heater will operate earlier helping to warm the battery, but in colder temperatures, Rapid charging will take longer than the 36 minutes at 20°c. If this is something you are interested in, we would ask the local Mazda dealer to raise this with the UK Technical Support Team for instructions.

if you have issues with your 12v Battery going flat , or rapid charging issues please complain to this Telephone number. The more that log their concerns to Mazda , the more their Technical department will look at the issues.

I have a lot of troubles with my 12v battery lately. Car doesnt react, cannot unplug from my wallbox, mx-30 computer goes on and off, lights flickering etc. After 5 minutes and turning car on of ignition sometimes it will run again. I guess 12v battery is about to die? I have a video of its crazyness.
Is this what we are talking about here?

The death of 12V battery is a symptom of defected OBC (on board charger). OBC charges 12V battery from the high voltage battery. The defected OBC also causes the ”fast charging” to be not so fast. They said that the OBC fault code does not stay on the car memory (WTF!?), but it stays on Mazda Connect cloud.
My car the OBC error code appeared after they installed the new 12V battery.
Delivery time for new OBC is looooooong, but hopefylly replacement of OBC will solve the CCS fast charging issue.

There is a service alert about this OBC issue, but because the error code does not stay in car memory and if service has never seen this issue and does not have fast charger, they not able to find the service bulletin.

My guess is that if you use CCS often, you end up with the dead 12V battery. If you just use Type2, you never run into this problem. But this is just my guess, because my 12V battery died after 5 fast charger connections in one week. I normally just charge the car with normal wall socket 8-10A.

Hi, I have an intermittent issue which has only happened a handful of time with my MX-30. I have taken it to the dealer twice with the same complaint but every time the engineers look at it, the fault is not present. When it does occur this issue occurs in cold weather circa <5 Deg C, not sure why. I first noticed this fault when approaching a dual carriage with a sweeping (circular approach) slip road. The car reported the drivers door was open and the interior cabin lights operated. Then I noted applying light to medium pressure on the drivers door caused the same issue. In addition, I also very occasionally get messages on the Mazda App reporting the drivers door is open. I have only ever experienced one failed charge cycle which coincided with a message in the App reporting the drivers door was open. Could a similar issue be causing your problems?

Sorry for the long post

Thanks. Mine is due back in the dealership soon too, as I also have the alarm issue (although I note no horn or hazards are activated) and the battery goes flat every other day, although like yours I've been told the battery is fine. I also have an issue with the front seat belt locking, when the rear door is shut and it can remain locked for hours!

Newbie here. May I add a pennorth? Up to two weeks ago I had no major problems. Doing charge by CCS but mostly 13A to 90%. Then very dead due to 12v absence - locked out! Started with jumper leads, but rest voltage later only about 11.5v. Charged it again properly and went up to expected 14.2ish on charge (at C/10). Currently appears to hold charge, 13.3ish rest. But I am nervous problem will recur. Would it be a good idea to put it on charge and check the (12v?) voltage at the same time? If it goes up, this suggests the OBC is working, or will give clue to origin of problem, and gives data to feed to Mazda.

Not sure if it helps but I was advised by my dealer that the issue is a "known problem" and down to the key fobs not issuing the correct command to lock or unlock the car and the car's CPU constantly checking for the signal, which in turn drains the battery. I was informed that new key fobs from Japan would be needed which could take months, but unfortunately I wasn't willing to see if it did resolve the problem or not.

I had another occurrence of 12V battery going dead.
Car was unused for 10 days at the airport. Reacted to nothing when I came back. Went in with the "key".
Road assistance came with a battery and connected it to my car. Car started and also 12V battery was charging with 14.2 volts.
This happened again after 2 CCS charging in one day before car was parked for 10 days.
Took the car for second service (2years/40000km) and there was no software update but I told them about this issue. Had to go again for another "measurement" and analyzing activities. Then they came to a conclusion that I have to go third time for another measurement and software update. Dealer sent measurement info to Mazda from the second visit to service.
So they said that all software to the car was updated. So this is most likely a software bug.
