I just had a look at mine a few minutes ago, no light came on when it was engaged. I tried with the ignition on and off, nothing changed. The good news is with 90 degree weather today, it's a great day for a drive!

 

You in US, RC? Would be OK if no light, just want to make sure it is working as expected (or at least the same as everyone else's, lmao)

 

The window lock didn’t light on my 2016 MX-5, my CX-3, or either of my CX-5s… Mazda don’t seem to think it needs an indicator light 🤷🏻‍♂️

 

Ah, good to know, thanks! I had a Protege a long time ago, but I don't really recall if it even had that button, lol

 

It clicks in and goes a bit recessed when engaged, you can check by touch so no light really needed

 

Or just try lowering the passenger window....if it doesn't work its on

Shiseido, the whole panel lights as does the mirror tilt switch but not the window lock switch...are you sure?

Yes but does the individual passenger window lock button light up orange when pressed? Mines doesn't only the mirror one. That is the question. Can you check?

All the logos or buttons are lighted when car is on.
Latter i would try to put a photo.

 

Please as so does mine, all is illuminated as are all other areas but the actual window lock button does not go orange when pressed. I would be interested to see the photo with that lit when operated. If it does as you say a handbook search is required!

I say that it is iluminated because i think the question is if the button is or not iluminated.
I dont know if it goes orange or pink when pressed, because i never use it.
If the question is about a change of colour when pressed, that i dont know.

 

That is the question unfortunately. Not does the panel light including around the switches but does it illuminate when pressed.

Right. This is for when the Lock is engaged. As someone pointed out, the button engaged is slightly lower but otherwise no light comes on when it is engaged (in comparison to other cars I have owned)

 

Ok, my lights up when is and isnt engaged.
Always the same white light.

Dont remember what happened with my former mazda 3 because i dont use the window lock button.
